The composition was commissioned by the wind band Sint Willibrord Lievelde for their 75th anniversary. Fiesta d'Alabastro opens with a fanfare. The oboe introduces a motive that appears in many variations throughout the composition. From a waltz through an adagio section, the composition ends with an energetic allegro. Every part stands for an episode of the history of this band and the village Lievelde.
